Message: Elp "From The Beginning" has always been a constant thread thoughout my entire life since it first hit the charts. I have been into ELP since I was in high school in the late seventies. Then when I grew up I again heard this song many times when I was listening to a worldwide night time broadcast of Coast to Coast with Gearge Noory. Obviously George Noory also likes this song as it is on his bumper music frequently. I was grown up but troubled by flashbacks and dreams of past abuse that I was trying to make sense of but I was still having a hard time. Somehow I was hearing this song and it was giving me images and insight along with making the hair on my arms stand up and haunting the hell out of me. I kept seeing visions of me as a very young child in innappropriate and compromising positions with various culprits that were victimizing me. Although this song haunted me and still does, it helped me to piece together events of the past. Although these memories cannot be proven it has given me incredible insight and closure to things that were hurting me now even though they occurred very far back in my past. Straightening out the events of my sordid past can help to give me a new beginning as I am approaching my half century mark. "From The Beginning" was instrumental in my healing process and I want to thank you for writing it and puting it to such riveting music. Thank you so much and as it happens it is also my favorite song from ELP!!!;)

Message: Michael Summers aka popewho,
I have been a loyal fan of you, King Crimson, and ELP, since 1970. I have most of the ELP recordings on CD and listen to them often. I saw ELP only once on November 29, 1977. The show was at The Richmond Arena, in Richmond, Va., U.S.A. A few days ago I left some comments on the "Were You There" area of this site about this show. I noticed that a Venue name is missing. I have provided the Venue name and my comments on the show are awaiting approval. I hope my comments help in identifing the 11/29/77 Venue name. Hopefully my comments will appear in the Greg Lake biography to be assembled and printed. I loved and still do, your music in my Hippie heydays of 1970 - 2011. Peace and love to you Greg. May your music continue to shine and inspire the Human Race forever.
Peace Out and Love,
popewho aka Michael Summers

Message: The music of Emerson, Lake & Palmer opened my eyes and mind to a whole new world of music. Growing up with only Country and Western playing in my home, I consider myself a Lucky Man to have discovered ELP. Favorite song: Pirates

Message: Hi Greg, Years back you were my favorite musician and even today still am.
You are an amazing musician who plays the guitar like one would come their hair plus who's voice is one of the best male vocals I've ever heard.
When I am 90 and living in a retirement home your music will drive my roomie nuts.

Message: listened to "fanfare for the common man", the first time, when i was a teenager...and was impressed by greg´s voice and also his powerful presence, as a musician and as a person, even though i only ever saw him on screen, never live....the album "works", I and II, were the only records i ever owned, by ELP, but i knew, of course, "lucky man", and today i kind of got nostalgic and went through several utube versions of that song, singing it, too, over and over...;-) thus i landed on this site and felt like leaving a word for greg, since i still am impressed by him and still love his voice and his powerful presence, as well as his smile...:-) i also like the younger versions of "lucky man" even better than the old ones, from the past, long ago....so, hey from berlin, to all fellow greg lake admirers and to greg himself...come to berlin, man! ;-D xox
